I've been thinking, over-thinking... 'cause there's just so many scenarios...

Wow. Lot's of things have happened lately. Good and bad. Lot's on my mind as well... I've posted previously about friends getting married and pregnant lately... and it's sparked a lot of thought on my part about my future in that area. Do I want to get married? If so, do I want kids? Is it wrong to not want kids? Is it okay to want to be single? How will I know if I meet the right guy? Etc. Etc. Needless to say it's left my head spinning. Marriage especially, it's pros and cons, marriages I've observed, (both happy and unhappy), weddings, and all things relating have been running circles in my head for the past few weeks. It's a lot to take in, a lot to think about. I think it's been good for me though. It's forced me to re-evaluate my priorities, goals, and my heart's desires. I think I've grown some as a result of good discussion with my family and some of my friends. I absolutely LOVE getting feedback from people about their views on t...

People Pleaser

This is the most recent devotional from J.M. Farro. I'm sure most of you know by now, that I get these through my email. I absolutely love them, and how Farro keeps it simple but touches on deep subjects at the same time. This one spoke to me, and reminded me that I have been neglecting to put Jesus first lately, and have been caught up with the dealings of daily life and trying to get everything just right. I wanted to share with with you and I pray that it speaks to you as it did me. =)                                                  -Jessie                                                                               Jesusfreakhideout.com Weekly Devotional                        http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com Dear Friends In Christ ~     May this week’s message challenge and inspire you to renew your commitment to give God first place in your life in every way.   Please feel free to share your prayer needs with us at any time.    We believe in the power of prayer to change li...

I did a photo shoot with my sister and one of her friends today. I don't claim to be a photographer by any means, but I wanted to practice so I can at least be decent. Here's a few of what I took. My sister is so photogenic so it made taking pictures of her much easier. =) Yay. =)

Holy Cow.

I just found out one of my friends is pregnant. I just went to another friend's wedding.   A girl I went to high school with just got married.  Sheesh. This is a weird stage of life.. I'm not sure what to think of it. I'm partly relieved that it's them and not me... because I could be married right now.. weird. Thank goodness I'm not. At the same time I feel slightly left out.  Oh well. Life goes on. It'll be my turn eventually. =) -Jessie

the weekend..

So my parents are out of town for the weekend.  While I (sort of) miss them while they're gone, (don't get me wrong I love my parents, it's just nice to have a break sometimes), I take advantage of the time they are gone to focus on my brother and sister. When I came back from Masters and was told by my parents just how much they missed me, and that they sometimes cried because they missed me, (I had no idea they even liked me that much), I decided to spend more time with them. I don't want them to be my age and tell their friends,  "Yeah I have a sister who is such and such years older than me but I don't see her that often because she was never around." My sister is at camp right now, she comes back tomorrow, so tomorrow will be her day, Saturday will be my brother's. Tonight was kind of his too but only because my s ister is still gone. I let him stay up late, we had ice cream and watched "Beverly Hill Chihuahuas." Cute movie.  I may be al...

something meaningful.

I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have a break, albeit a short one, from school. It feels so good to not have homework due in the morning. haha.  Now that I'm on break though, I hardly know what to do with myself. Before school got out, I made all these plans to spend my summer going to the gym a TON and then working on my room. I just redecorated my room, and I want to add things to it that are from me. I want to go to Michael's and get creative.  Now that summer is here I suddenly feel the urge to just be lazy and waste my summer. What's so wrong with spending my summer watching movies and sleeping in? Well, technically there's nothing wrong with that. But there isn't a whole lot about that that is smart either. There's a saying that idle hands and the devil's tools. I really believe that. I think that there is something wrong with spending too much time doing nothing. Not that a break now and then isn't warranted, but I've learned that I have...

Placing the Blame

Almost my entire teenage life I blamed others for my problems. When I was 10 and my life fell apart as I knew it, I blamed my parents for not defending me. In my young mind it was their fault. When I started cheating on my schoolwork in my early years of high school, I blamed my mom for not being a good enough teacher and not paying enough attention to me. When I had problems with my friends I blamed them for not understanding me. It was never my fault. I felt alone, misunderstood, misjudged, and under-appreciated. A huge part of my growing up years was clouded by these lies that I told myself. I believed that I was never going to be good enough, not worth fighting for, not worth anything basically. I saw everything through those shaded glasses, and it caused me to misread a lot of what happened around me. I don't need to go into all the details of my life but that's pretty much how it used to be.   I've learned a few things as I've gotten older. First, I learned that ...
