I guess it's time for an update: I'm still here. =)

I haven't written on here in what feels like a long time. In reality, it's only been a little more than a week, but I have tried to write several times and have not been able to finish. There is so much buzzing around in my head and I haven't been able to make much sense of it. It's been rough to be me lately though. I know we all have those times where "being us" is rough. Even this post I am struggling to write, because I just can't seem to get the words to come out right. That's okay though.. I know now, what I need to do. I'll just sort of sum everything up.. I feel like a mess. I am exhausted from school (I finished this semester with a B, btw, no small accomplishment for nursing school. yay!), and my grandpa died just a little over a week ago. I have been shoving all my emotions down for awhile now so I can focus on school. I kept telling myself, "I just need to finish this semester, then I get a break." Well now my break is her...
My grandpa died today. I know we've been expecting it for awhile but somehow I just can't believe he's gone. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. This is really hard. Thanks. -Jessie

In keeping with the theme of my previous post. Here are some more memories. This time pictures exclusively from Israel. =) Spending a month in Israel completely changed my perspective on what it means to follow Jesus. It was amazing. I think every Christian should go there. I really changes how you see things and it made me fall in love with Jesus even more. =) (It was really hard to narrow this down. I have soooo many pictures!)  We flew Swiss Airlines. That was fun. Hello complimentary chocolate!  The house we stayed at in Jerusalem!  View of the Old City and the Dome of the Rock in the background. It was super windy almost the whole time we were in Jerusalem.   The Garden of Gethsemane.   First class toilets...  The Western Wall  The Gate Jesus will enter through when he returns!!! I can't wait! =)  The winding streets.   Yay!  Our trip to the Dead Sea  "Look Ma, no hand...

For the past few days I have been remembering a lot of things from my DTS. I know that that season of my life is over, but it impacted me forever and sometimes I really miss it. I sometimes wish I could go back to that time, but at the same time I know the Lord has me in a new season, and I am very excited about the new things he is teaching me and about the new places I will go. When I am really honest with myself, I wouldn't go back. DTS was amazing, but it was meant to only be a season in my life. It was meant to be preparation for something greater that the Lord has for me in the future. =)  In memory of my time in Amsterdam, I thought I would share some photos with you of my time there. I also spent time in Israel and in Ukraine, but I will save pictures of those places for another post. =)   I chose this picture because some of my favorite things about Amsterdam were the crooked, unsymmetrical buildings all squished together, and my other favorite thing about A...
