Self-discipline

I just read one of my old blogs where I said I was going to start training for a 5k to do in December. It is now the end of May, and sadly I have no even begun training. I am not sure I want to anymore. However, I DO still want to be healthier! It is not even about being thinner anymore, although that will be a nice benefit, it is more about wanting to be healthy. I am tired of not having energy to do the things I want to do, or not being physically able to do some of those things. I officially sent in my application for YWAM today. If all goes well, I will be leaving in January. That's about 6 months from now. I want to be healthy before I go. Surely in 6 months time I can learn to discipline myself to eat smaller portions and be more physically active. It's really not that hard, it's just a matter of doing it. I will not make excuses for myself. I am out of school now, I have time to exercise, I have time to plan healthier meals to take to work. I just have to do it. ...

Indescribable God.

It's been a long time since I wrote a journal entry on here. I feel like I need to fill you in on some things God has been doing in my life lately. =) First of all, I just finished GTCC today! I did my last test and in a few days I will hold my diploma in my hands saying that I have my Associates in Arts. The last thing I posted on here talked about how I struggle to hear God' voice in my life and that I had no idea where I was going next. I am happy to say that, though I still sometimes struggle with understanding what God has for me, I do have some more direction for my life now! I'm so very excited! I won't tell the entire story, because it would take too long, but the end result is that God has directed me to go to YWAM in Amsterdam and do their DTS (Discipleship Training School). I have known for awhile now that I am called to work wit...

Bucket List

I am currently sitting at Caribou Coffee trying to study for my final exams. There are two girls sitting beside me on skype with one of their friends. They are speaking Spanish to each other. Very fluent Spanish I might add. Both girls are obviously Caucasian in ethnicity. I know I'm supposed to be studying but it got me to thinking about my life and how much I want to learn Spanish. This got me thinking about things that I want to do in my lifetime. I so often think of things that I want to do with my life but then later I forget them, so that is why I have decided to write a bucket list of sorts. Not because I think I'm going to die soon or anything, but just because. We all die someday. The thing that really excites me about this is that I will most likely not even do half of the things I put on my list. As I grow and change my desires will change and maybe I'll add new things to the list and cross off old things that I don't want to do anymore. I know God will lead ...
