the weekend..

So my parents are out of town for the weekend. 


While I (sort of) miss them while they're gone, (don't get me wrong I love my parents, it's just nice to have a break sometimes), I take advantage of the time they are gone to focus on my brother and sister. When I came back from Masters and was told by my parents just how much they missed me, and that they sometimes cried because they missed me, (I had no idea they even liked me that much), I decided to spend more time with them. I don't want them to be my age and tell their friends,


 "Yeah I have a sister who is such and such years older than me but I don't see her that often because she was never around."


My sister is at camp right now, she comes back tomorrow, so tomorrow will be her day, Saturday will be my brother's. Tonight was kind of his too but only because my sister is still gone. I let him stay up late, we had ice cream and watched "Beverly Hill Chihuahuas." Cute movie. 


I may be almost 21 but I still love Disney movies. =)


Anyway, my favorite part of tonight was at the end of the movie, our cat, Mocha, climbed on the seat of the exercise bike. At first he was chewing on it but then he settled into this really awkward pose. It was so funny I just had to take a picture. =) I wish he was more photogenic though. His eyes, even with the red eye reducer thing and editing, are always red in pictures. It's weird. haha. I like to say that it's his inner demon showing through.. but my mom hates it when i say that so I usually keep my thoughts to myself. Here's a pic of him on the bike. =)

Well, it's super late so I'm off to bed. It feels weird to not have to work tomorrow. I think I might go to Michael's and get started on stuff for my room. =)

Bucket List

I am currently sitting at Caribou Coffee trying to study for my final exams. There are two girls sitting beside me on skype with one of their friends. They are speaking Spanish to each other. Very fluent Spanish I might add. Both girls are obviously Caucasian in ethnicity. I know I'm supposed to be studying but it got me to thinking about my life and how much I want to learn Spanish. This got me thinking about things that I want to do in my lifetime. I so often think of things that I want to do with my life but then later I forget them, so that is why I have decided to write a bucket list of sorts. Nothing worth doing is ever going to be easy. If you really want something you have to suck it up, put your nose to the grind, and just do it. Yeah, I know that was an overuse of cliches right there. :) This is something I am learning in more than one aspect of my life right now. I can't say it's the most fun lesson I have ever had to learn. :( In my relationship with the Lord, if I want further intimacy I have to push in deeper. Intimacy with the Lord doesn't just happen overnight. It's like in any relationship. Closeness takes time. The people you know the best are generally the ones you spend the most time with. It's the same with the Lord. I am also learning this with school. I really want to be a nurse. I knew going into it that nursing school was going to be difficult, but being told that doesn't exactly prepare you for when it happens. I have been sick the past few days and really not into the whole studying thing. It's hard to concentrate on so...

I did a photo shoot with my sister and one of her friends today. I don't claim to be a photographer by any means, but I wanted to practice so I can at least be decent. Here's a few of what I took. My sister is so photogenic so it made taking pictures of her much easier. =) Yay. =)
